Veterano is a San Francisco-based Hip Hop producer whose name is discreetly associated with novices and veterans alike, including Kool G Rap, Ras Kass, Grafh, Akon, Slaughterhouse, Saigon and Nino Bless.
He’s already established a valuable impression on artists, and now Veterano’s prepared to make a parallel imprint on the industry. Latest and Greatest Vol. 1 is the producer’s first mixtape, intended to showcase his production proficiencies hailing across Hip Hop’s internet and radio airways without a proper introduction. "I want people who have heard these songs to know who was responsible for putting the back drop to these records. A lot of times great songs slip under the radar or there isn’t a proper recognition granted, so I feel I need to put it all together just so people know ", says the west coast producer.
Chosen to take the lead due to its sound accessibility, “Sparta” is the first single off of Latest and Greatest Vol. 1, featuring Ras Kass and Nino Bless. "It’s not super grimy, but it’s not super soft. The Hip Hop heads could enjoy it and the street dudes could appreciate the cutthroat lyrics and wordplay from Ras and Nino." The first single is accessible though Latest and Greatest Vol. 1 is distinctive from most mixtapes due to its producer-fashioned undertaking. “We are used to hearing rappers’ mixtapes, but rarely see producer mixtapes these days.” Veterano’s mixtape approach gains further distinctiveness due to its joint partnership with bay area based clothing company, HomeGrown Outfitters and Stash Magazine, a creative endeavor merging marketing with multiparty art.
In addition to the prominent artists mentioned above, Veterano’s rugged-style of production landed him collaborations with Hip Hop’s musicians across the map, ranging from Toronto’s Aristo to Planet Asia, Royce da 5’9 and more.
